I am an international correspondent based in Texas. I have experienced in reporting on major stories for global news networks from the Middle East to the Far East. I covered the 2008 Russia-Georgia conflict, reporting from the frontlines. I crossed from Georgian to Russian territory with a team filing reports from Tskhinvali, the devastated capital of the South Ossetia war zone. I was one of the few to secure an exclusive interview with the Russian Prime Minister, Vladimir Putin when the conflict ended. I was able to interview with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.
In my other assignments, I had a chance to cover the 2008 militant attacks on Mumbai, India and the siege of the landmark Taj Majal Hotel.
In July 2005, I reported the scene of the bombings in London and performed investigative reporting on the terrorists responsible for the deadly incident. I also reported on the Phuket’s Tsunami tragedy where I documented heartbreaking stories of tourists from 27 countries caught in the disaster in December 2004.
In September 2004, I reported on the Beslan school siege in Russia when 344 civilians perished in the standoff between Chechen rebels and Russian security forces that lasted for three days. In October 2002, I covered the theatre hostage crisis in Moscow in which the Chechen insurgents captured nearly 800 people. My reports documented how special forces of Russia pumped lethal gas into the theatre auditorium to subdue the hostage takers before going in. I have also traveled many times to Chechnya where a bitter war continues unabated between Russian troops and separatist rebels.
In the Middle East, I reported extensively from Iraq in the aftermath of the war in 2003. I also have spent several months documenting the hardships and bloodshed felt by both sides in the conflict between Israeli and Palestinian. I was able to interview with the Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, after Israeli troops lifted a siege on his Ramallah compound in May 2002.
I graduated Cum Laude from The George Washington University with a degree in international affairs. I also spent a semester at Tel Aviv University and is fluent in French and conversational in Hebrew and Spanish. If you wish to contact me, please click here.
